Jide Kosoko reveals why he gets scared whenever Funke Akindele calls him for a job

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has revealed why he gets scared whenever actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele calls him for a job, citing her intense work ethic and perfectionist approach to filmmaking.

Kosoko made this known during an interview on the African A-List podcast, where he described Akindele as exceptionally hardworking and said her energy on set is difficult to match, even for male actors.

According to the veteran actor, Akindele pays close attention to details and can insist on shooting a scene several times until she is satisfied with the outcome.

He disclosed that the filmmaker could shoot a single scene up to 15 times, a process he said requires considerable patience and stamina from the actors involved.

“Funke is very hardworking, even if you are a man, you can’t match her energy. She is left-handed. Whenever Funke calls me for a job, I am always scared. You can shoot a scene 15 times,” he said.

Kosoko further explained that Akindele could decide to revisit scenes filmed the previous day if she noticed an issue with the props or other details on set.

“And she may come the following day thinking of shooting another scene, but then she will say, ‘We have to shoot those scenes again because of the plates they brought,’” he added.

His comments highlighted Akindele’s attention to detail and demanding approach to filmmaking, which he described as a reflection of her commitment to getting scenes right.
